We’ve been riding bare since 2011
Our History
H-Town World Naked Bike Ride has proudly hosted World Naked Bike Ride events in Houston every year since 2011, with the exception of 2020. What began as a local protest ride has grown into one of Houston’s most unique community events, bringing together riders who support safer streets, body positivity, environmental awareness, and reducing our dependence on oil.
To provide a more enjoyable experience, we moved the annual ride from the traditional second weekend in June to the second weekend in September. The later date offers cooler evening temperatures and an earlier sunset, making for a more comfortable and enjoyable ride.
More Than a Bike Ride
The H-Town World Naked Bike Ride is a community celebration that brings together thousands of people from diverse backgrounds. Riders participate for many different reasons—advocating for safer streets, expressing body freedom, supporting environmental causes, or simply enjoying an unforgettable evening with friends.
Before the ride, participants gather for body painting and a community poster making activity. The ride itself creates a colorful, welcoming atmosphere that showcases Houston’s creative spirit while promoting positive social change.
Ride Responsibly
For the safety of everyone, do not participate if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Riding a bicycle or skating while impaired puts you and others at risk. Help us keep the event safe by arriving prepared and riding responsibly.
Ride Ready & Safe
Make sure both you and your bicycle (or skates) are in good working condition before joining the ride. Your bike should have working front and rear lights, properly inflated tires, and reliable brakes. Wear comfortable, secure footwear, and ensure you are physically prepared for a group ride in an urban environment.
Why We Ride
The Houston World Naked Bike Ride is part of a global movement that uses cycling to raise awareness about issues that affect everyone.
Our annual ride promotes:
- Cyclist Safety – Encouraging motorists to share the road.
- Body Positivity – Celebrating body acceptance and respect for every body.
- Reducing Dependence on Oil – Supporting cycling and sustainable transportation.
- Environmental Awareness – Encouraging healthier, more eco-friendly travel.
Whether you ride nude, partially clothed, or in body paint, you help spread these important messages.

IMPORTANT: Participation in this ride is not an indication that someone is a target for pickup lines. This is a protest, not an opportunity to “hit on” fellow riders. Nor should anyone pressure anyone else into daring to bare more. If any participant is saying or doing anything that makes you uncomfortable, notify a ride organizer so that appropriate action may be taken.
IMPORTANT: NUDITY IS NOT CONSENT!
